Testimonials

“Naomi’s Pilates is my “must-do” weekly session. It is supporting my re-entry to running and i’ve rediscovered my glutes because of it. The whole body workout Naomi takes us through feels invigorating and restorative after a day at my desk. Her way of explaining the exercises and what they target shows how broad and deep her knowledge of the body is and what it needs to avoid injury. Her balance and poise is also a joy to watch!”

Rachel Young (Senior Policy Advisor, Mum of two under 5 and born-again runner)

“After Having a lingering pain in my calf area when running, I finally gave in and booked an appointment to see Naomi. I was in a lot of pain before my appointment and Naomi had suggested a few exercises. Naomi understood my issues and gave me exercises to complete everyday. Running to me is extremely important for my mental health so I was keen to get running as soon as possible. I had four appointments in total which included rehab and soft tissue work. I have now been given a structured recovery plan to get back to running (pain free) and I hope to be back to my normal running routine soon.

In addition to Naomi’s appointments, she offers Pilates once a week which focuses on rehab for runners which I have found really helpful.”

“Naomi, is an outstanding athlete and rehabilitation specialist.
Recommended to me by friends at Epsom and Ewell Harriers, I had used her skills for relatively minor aches since 2017 and then also asked her to run a Pilates class for my family at home.

In the summer of 2018, I broke my leg falling off my bike in a race and the next day had a metal plate and screws fitted to hold it together. The NHS at York hospital were superb at mending the break, and I came back home 6 days later in a wheelchair able to get up onto crutches.
I organised a specialist orthopaedic physio through my health insurance who got me walking again, but my first question to the doctor and Physio had been “would I be able to run the Boston Marathon in April, the Dragons Back in May and the Italy Ironman in September?”

The Physio said, I needed a sports rehab specialist to get me running again. I needed Naomi to get me running fast and long again.

A long, challenging but surprisingly enjoyable series of rehab sessions with Naomi started. Naomi saw me regularly over the months and 4/5 days a week, I’d spend an hour doing an ever more difficult set of exercises; standing on my bad leg and balancing, bouncing on a trampoline, using stretch bands, together with swimming.
Until this accident I’ve always been healthy and never known serious injury or ill health and without Naomi, I would have had no idea what to do.
Naomi is an extraordinary professional with the knowledge and motivation to take my broken body, and get me running and racing again; to not give up, but to achieve those 3 goals; Boston, Dragon’s Back and Italy Ironman.
Thanks Naomi”

“I have been seeing Naomi for a number of years and can highly recommend her.  As a runner for some 15 years, I am very aware of the numerous moving parts we have which can develop a niggle and lead to an injury. Thanks to Naomi, regular visits for a sports massage and some valuable key running specific exercises to take away, I  remain injury free and feel strong as a runner. When I have developed a niggle or ache, Naomi knows my history, she won’t just look at what’s hurting but will source the root of the problem and address that. Naomi  is approachable and friendly and I can’t recommend her enough. If running is important to you physically and mentally, and you want to avoid injury, then I would recommend starting  some regular sessions with Naomi, even once a month will make a difference.”

Vanda Caulfield (Running Coach)

“Naomi is a fantasic physio, focusing on enabling you to get back to what you love doing. As a slightly older runner she has helped me to strengthen my weaker areas to enable me to keep running. Her advice and treatment has always been extremely helpful.”

Justine Frost (Marathon runner)

“Naomi has been extremely helpful in not only treating a localised muscular problem, but identifying underlying imbalances elsewhere. Through treatment as well as specific exercises, stretches and pilates, I am now more mobile, stronger and balanced. Naomi is very proactive and focused on long term injury prevention and not only solving the immediate problem, which is very refreshing”.

Guy Laister (Epsom and Ewell Athlete)

“Naomi helped me for around 9 months with my chronic back pain. As an athlete who had belonged to a club for at least 3 years at the time I had started to develop pain in my lower back and hips. Naomi has guided me through it with amazing physical therapy and many exercises which helped me strengthen the surrounding muscles and overall get me to my best form whilst running that I had ever been at. As well as the weekly sessions, she also gave me amazing encouragement and we always had nice little catch ups while I got my physical therapy. She also majorly helped me in my training plan to improve my 3k time. She even helped pace me at my last attempt over 3km before I had to submit a time for PE A-level to my school.

I can’t thank Naomi enough because she helped me get rid of chronic back pain that would disturb me daily and got me back into running again without fear of injury.

She would always give me attainable exercises to do each week by myself in the comfort of my own home. In addition, If I struggled with some of the exercises and I wasn’t strong enough, she would break them down and make them easier for me at the level I was at.”

Laura Bailey (Student and Epsom and Ewell athlete)

“Naomi is very conscientious and understanding. More importantly she is extremely knowledgable and patient. She has the experience and ability to analyse injuries and provide professional help, encouragement and common sense to problems, which others tend to communise.
My severe Achilles problem was stationary with other physiotherapists merely going through the motions. Noami, diagnosed in more detail, provided much more individual treatment and effort to ensure I can now play Golf without any problems or negativity received elsewhere.
Sports injuries are her forte and I strongly recommend getting in touch when disillusionment and disappointment sets in”.

Bill Horwood (Golfer)

“After having lower back pain for some time along with an ongoing shoulder issue I considered looking for a physiotherapist. I booked a session with Naomi following a recommendation. She was quickly able to assess and offer honest advice using her expertise in Sports Rehabilitation. Naomi identified the root cause of my problems by coupling my symptoms together with treatment and exercises. She also explained that to prevent future recurrence it was a joint effort in taking her advice and using techniques demonstrated by her on a regular basis in order to keep the correct muscles working and avoid overusing the wrong muscles. I am now feeling a lot healthier and fitter and will continue using Naomi for ongoing treatment and maintenance. I have no hesitation recommending Naomi to future clients”.

There is not much to say, but how incredible the past 6 months have been working and chatting with Naomi. I had had so many issues in the past 3 years with knee injuries, and thanks to her knowledge and therapy, I have never felt better. Besides being a great listener and undertansding your problems, you can see that she cares not only that you get better physically, but mentally too. I can’t stress enough how much I recommend you to visit her if you ever require physio. She also has an impecable studio where you feel comfortable and ready to advance in your thearapy. Once again, I highly recommend Naomi Lenane’s services, not only if you want to get back into sport, but to feel better and healthier than you ever thought you could.

I hate to say I was a bit apprehensive and sceptical about going to see a physiotherapist and starting a form of sports rehabilitation. Last year I initially had to stop running totally for about 8 weeks as I was suffering from a knee injury / knee pain. After runs I would literally hobble and would limp home. After that, I had ankle pain and a piecing pain in my upper thigh groin area. Friends of mine and another runner kept on encouraging me to go see someone for it. After Naomi was recommended to me and being in pain again I thought I had nothing to loose and would give it a go. Naomi did an assessment and identified the route cause of what was causing my issues. In my case certain key stability muscles were particularly weak and I also had very limited flexibility in my ankles, this resulted in putting too much pressure on my knees and over compensating in other muscles causing pain.  She gave me a number of exercises / stretches  to do  and also does the most amazing sports massages. I started to notice an improvement. I used to have to run with knee supports and calf socks. I also frequently use to take ibuprofen and paracetamol for pain. Thanks to Naomi, I no longer need either when I run and since seeing her have been injuring free. If I develop a niggle going forward, I know Naomi will be able to help me with it. After having been sceptical I now personally highly recommend Naomi and have recommended her to a number of people. In my case Naomi also gave me some general running tips and nutrition advice which I have found very beneficial and stick too as well.
