Sports Rehabilitation

Your first Sports Rehabilitation session will include a detailed consultation involving an in depth look into your current injury problems, general health, activity levels, past injuries and what you would like to get out of the session.

A movement assessment, gait analysis and a series of tests and exercises will be carried out to identify any muscular imbalance and whether it contributes to pain or dysfunction.

You will then experience how a tailored rehabilitation programme can precisely target dysfunctional muscles to regain full function. As you gain confidence and strength, exercises will be progressed to further increase strength, mobility and endurance to maintain a pain free lifestyle.

In all walks of life it is important to have a balanced muscular system. Compensation can occur when the muscluar system is not balanced and is an intelligent response from the central nervous system in order to protect the weakest link. However if this compensation continues it can lead to overuse injuries and pain. A tailored rehab plan will target specific muscles in order to help you move more efficiently and maximise performance.

Depending on the severity of the injury, treatment may also include hands on treatment such as mobilisations, cross frictions, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and taping.
